Primary Purpose Responsible for proofreading, editing, rewriting, and authenticating complex user manuals and documents in a clear and concise style. Documentation must align with NIST/HiTrust and PCI frameworks. Represents the organization on project teams and may perform minor project leadership roles.

 

Minimum Specifications

Education  Must have a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

 

Experience  Must have a minimum of eight years of experience as a Technical Writer or Business Analyst with a primary focus on developing and supporting documents such as policies, processes, and procedures as well as RACI development.  Must have expertise with MS Office, Visio or other graphical workflow documentation tools, and SharePoint or other documentation collaboration environments.  Background in the Healthcare domain, including HIPAA and HiTRUST/NIST as well as PCI.

 

Equivalent Education and/or Experience  May have an equivalent combination of education and experience to substitute for both the education and the experience requirements.

Skills or Special Abilities  Must be able to lead and complete complex writing and process documentation initiatives with minimal supervision.  Must be able to instruct and lead others in technical writing and documentation techniques and tasks.  Must be able to demonstrate expertise with standard business analysis, business process definition and project management concepts and tools.  Must be able to accurately interpret concepts of varying technical complexity.  Must be able to document vision, scope, and functional requirements.  Ability to create, assimilate and convey written material in a concise and effective manner.  Ability to interview SMEs and conduct the research necessary to write and compile accurate content.  Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate information to technical and non-technical audiences.  Must have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to focus on details as well as big picture.  Must be able to balance multiple tasks in a rapidly changing, start-up environment.  Must be able to develop a relationship with technical teams.  Must be able to demonstrate expertise level usage with MS Office suite and Visio.  Must have a strong understanding of, and experience with, documentation library tools such as SharePoint.

 

Responsibilities  Represents the organization on project teams and may perform technical project leadership roles, while fostering teamwork and collaboration within and across work groups.  Supports the development of new documentation and processes as needed for new and existing Parkland Information Security program initiatives and adherence to accepted standards.  Improves editorial and visual standards for documents and recommends new designs, layouts, and procedures as needed.  Contributes to the development and achievement of organizational goals and objectives.  Works with Information Security Leadership to understand, document and elaborate CSF aligned policies, processes, and procedures.  Defines and documents Parkland documentation standards and processes supporting documentation approval, documentation numbering, and a technical documentation library.  Develops and maintains the Parkland Information Security documentation library within SharePoint (or another designated tool).  Identifies ways to improve work processes and improve documentation quality. Makes recommendations to supervisor, implements, and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals of the department and Parkland.  Provides training to appropriate Parkland staff in documentation standards and processes including document review/approval processes.  Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in business analysis by attending classes, seminars, workshops and reading professional journals. Integrates knowledge gained into current work processes.  Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines that impact the Parkland Information Security division.  Develops effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable laws, accreditation agency requirements, and federal, state, and local laws.  Seeks advice and guidance as necessary to ensure proper understanding.
