Primary Purpose

Supervises clerical work, and assigned staff, while collecting and compiling data, resolving customer and intradepartmental issues, and handling special projects to facilitate the effective operation of the department.

 
Minimum Specifications
 
 
Education
Must have a High School Diploma or GED
 


Experience:

Must have six (6) years of related clerical experience in an office environment to include one year of comparable Lead supervisory experience

Skills or Special Abilities:
- Must be able to demonstrate ability to use independent judgment in resolving issues within established guidelines.
- Must be able to successfully pass a Customer Service test, Spelling test, General Computer Skills test and Alpha/Numeric Filing test with a minimum score of 80%.
- Must be able to utilize required software for assigned department.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, visitors and hospital staff.
- Must be able to demonstrate supervisory skills and techniques.

 

Responsibilities

  1. Selects, trains, motivates, supervises and evaluates assigned staff to ensure maximum utilization of individual and group capabilities, while providing optimal service to internal and external customers. Ensures that assigned employees receive opportunities to further their knowledge.
  2. Maintains, processes, distributes, and controls forms, correspondence, documents, and reports to assure work is completed properly.
  3. Schedules and assigns work to ensure the effective operation of the department.
  4. Maintains positive working relationships with staff, managers, visitors, and others to help ensure that work processes remain efficient. 5 Receives, verifies, logs and tracks time and attendance records to ensure that employee work hours are accurately documented and compensated.
  5. Supervises the receipt, classification, reconciliation, consolidation, and summarization of documents and information.
  6. Supervises the pick-up and delivery of materials to ensure that customers receive prompt, courteous service.
  7. Responds to, and resolves complaints, concerns, and requests for information to increase customer satisfaction.
  8. Reviews, and compiles regular and special reports in accordance with established formats and procedures.
  9. Assists, implements, monitors and revises annual goals and objectives that support the objectives of the department.
  10. Orders, tracks and maintains supplies to ensure that appropriate inventory levels are maintained.
  11. Coordinates special projects, as assigned to support the goals and objectives of the department
