Responsible for performing the most advanced level of Neurodiagnostic procedures to ensure optimal provision of services.


- Must have six years of advanced Neurophysiology experience to include EEG, evoked potentials, sleep or epilepsy monitoring OR have graduated from an accredited school of EEG/Neurodiagnostic technology plus four years of experience.

Equivalent Education and/or Experience
- May have an equivalent combination of education and experience to substitute for both the education and the experience requirements.

- for a laboratory or epilepsy monitoring position: must be registered by the American Board of Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist (ABRET) as a registered EEG Technologist (REEGT).

- for an intraoperative monitoring position: must be registered by ABRET as a Registered Evoked Potential Technologist (REPT), or must be Certified in Neurophysiological Intra-Operative Monitoring (CNIM).

- for an EMG laboratory position: must be registered by American Society of Electrodiagnostic Technologist (AAET) as a Registered Electrodiagnostic Technologist (REDT).

- for a sleep lab position: must be registered by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (BRPT) as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT).

- Must have a current Heartsaver CPR course completion card within 90 days of hire and/or placement in jobfrom one of the following:
o American Heart Association
o American Red Cross Rescuer
o Military Training Network.

Skills or Special Abilities:
- Must be able to perform routine and advanced Neurodiagnostic procedures
independently following established department procedures.
- Must be able to demonstrate an expert knowledge regarding advanced neurophysiology
- Must be able to respond appropriately in all patient-related situations.
- Must be able to work with physicians on assessing new techniques and recommending
changes as indicated.
- Must be able to work with personal computers including word processing, spread
sheets and databases.
- Must have good communication skills necessary in handling difficult and severely ill
- Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations.
- Must be able to demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behaviors.
