Primary Purpose: Through effective consulting skills and dynamic facilitation, equips learner at all levels to improve performance, team engagement/effectiveness, and organizational outcomes by using evidence-based skills and practices. Identifies need, conducts sound gap analysis, proposes solutions, develops, implements, and evaluates leadership and professional development programs, resources, and learning activities. Serves as a trusted subject matter expert for leadership and professional development insights/solutions in custom intervention/action plans. Supports development initiatives designed to ensure the talent bench for Parkland, including talent reviews, succession planning, development experiences, etc.

 

Education:

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Education, Human Resources, Organizational Leadership, or relevant field.
  • Prefers Master's degree in Leadership Development, Organization Development, Human Resources, Organizational Psychiatry, or equivalent. 

 

Experience: 

  • Four (4) years experience in course/curriculum development, program implementation, and human performance evaluation of leadership and/or professional development programs.
  • Demonstrated responsibility/experience for group facilitation or skills-based training.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering in multiple learning modalities and methods: e-learning, instructor-led training (ILT), virtual/live webinars, performance simulation, performance support tools, experiential learning, group/private coaching.
  • Prefer work experience in healthcare or service environment.
  • Strong preference for experience applying organizational development (OD) methodology to assess and resolve department or team issues.
  • Strong preference for certification in Blanchard SL ll (Situational Leadership), Wiley’s DiSC, or experience in other development tools.
  • Prefer 2 years in a formal supervisory role with direct application of leadership development standards.
  • Prefer experience in an official coaching capacity or proven track record of coaching, mentoring and developing leaders at the entry and/or mid-levels.

 

Equivalent Education and/or Experience:

  • May have an equivalent combination of education and experience to substitute for education requirements.

 

Certification/Registration/Licensure:

  • Prefer ATD talent development (CPTD) certification and or master trainer designation.

 

Skills or Special Abilities:

  • Excellent group learning facilitation skills.
  • Strong influence and compelling presentation style.
  • Ability to learn content quickly, deliver with confidence, and preserve the integrity of course design.
  • Functional understanding and practice of adult learning methodology and the ability to provide timely feedback and support to leaders, individual contributors, and teams.
  • Strong sense of urgency for assessing and addressing gaps in team effectiveness, individual performance, and leadership effectiveness.
  • Srong ability to work effectively with others in a diverse, collaborative environment to achieve team goals and objectives.
  • Pragmatic knowledge of leadership competency frameworks and a variety of proven practices, tools and techniques that help leaders to develop in their jobs, with unique experiences and well- designed programs.
  • Ability to manage and drive multiple projects and priorities to completion and on time.
  • Ability to develop and manage programs and initiatives from concept to deployment and evaluation, using proven program and project management practices and processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly flexible, self-directed, self-motivated, and adapts well to a rapidly changing environment.

 

Responsibilities:

1. Creates and/or adopts best-in-class curriculum, experiential opportunities, resources, and programs that build competencies.

2. Manages time and preparation strategies to facilitate learning as scheduled, as designed, and with confidence.

3. Applies skilled facilitation and coaching best practices to engage learners, meet learning objectives, and inspire application/change.

4. Works collaboratively with instructional designers and organizational Subject Matter Experts in the development of learning experiences.

5. Continuously updates and improves development experiences and programs to maximize learning and behavioral change and align to organizational priorities.

6. Applies adult learning methods, leadership development models, and communication frameworks to provide timely feedback and support to leaders, teams, and individuals.

7. Creates, implements, and/or manages development programs for target levels of leadership to enhance effectiveness and build a succession bench.

8. Evaluates learning by using standard models, such as Kirkpatrick’s Evaluation Model. Conducts benchmarks for effectiveness comparisons and trends for reporting purposes.

9. Supports development initiatives including talent reviews, succession planning, and 360 evaluations.

10. Builds relationships at all levels to identify improvement opportunities.

11. Drives process improvement through the use of a systematic approach; utilizes best practices, templates, and systems to ensure alignment and productivity.

12. Partners with peers and other departments to drive the department and company's strategic objectives including DEI, HRO, engagement, and talent development.

 

Job Accountabilities:

1. Identifies ways to improve work processes and improve customer satisfaction. Makes recommendations to supervisor, implements, and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals of the department and Parkland.

2. Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, actively participating in professional organizations, and/or maintaining certification or licensure. Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices.

3. Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws and guidelines that impact the area. Develops effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable laws, accreditation agency requirements, and federal, state, and private health plans. Seeks advice and guidance as needed to ensure proper understanding.
