Primary Purpose Responsible for special projects within the PCHP division to ensure the development and maintenance of cost-effective operations that provide quality service consistent with established goals and objectives. Minimum Specifications Education - Must have a Bachelor¿s degree. Prefer degree in healthcare administration, business, project management, or a related field. Experience - Must have three years of experience in project management. - Prefer project management experience in information technology, clinical field, quality and/or compliance. - Prefer experience in CHIP, Medicaid, managed care, healthcare insurance or other related healthcare area Equivalent Education and/or Experience - May have an equivalent combination of education and experience to substitute for both the education and the experience requirements. Certification/Registration/Licensure - None Required Tests for Placement Skills or Special Abilities - Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. -Must have strong organizational skills. -Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff. -Must have good resource-management skills. -Must have a working knowledge of managed care policies, procedures, laws and guidelines. -Must be computer literate with word processing and spreadsheet experience. -Must have project planning skills. -Must have strong tact and diplomacy skills. Responsibilities 1. Responsible for the implementation and tracking of special projects with all PCHP functional areas to ensure optimal operations. 2. Provides leadership, direction, and coordination for special projects as assigned, including projects of a strategic nature and projects with significant financial and regulatory impacts, in order to maintain high standing in community while broadening financial resources for Parkland and PCHP. 3. Researches, recommends, plans, and manages quality control, community relations, efficiency, customer service, technology, materials, growth, and improvement projects from concept development through implementation to help provide the PCHP with cost-effective, high quality services. 4. Utilizes knowledge to make recommendations for departmental committees which are designed to enhance operations and facilitate the development and delivery of quality products and services consistent with the goals and objectives of PCHP. 5. Identifies and analyzes the design of jobs, work processes, work flows, and implements appropriate changes to improve effectiveness, productivity, and efficiency that support the overall goals of PCHP. 6. Assists with the development, implementation, monitoring, and revision of annual goals and objectives that supports the mission and objectives of PCHP. 7. Generates, compiles, analyzes, reviews and recommends status, tracking, and productivity reports to ensure the availability of tools needed to evaluate, monitor and respond to the effectiveness of operations, special projects, and budgetary considerations. Provides status reports to ensure that management and staff are aware of priorities and project status. 8. Maintains a positive working relationship with internal and external contacts to develop and communicate products and services, and improve customer service. 9. Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines that impact or govern assigned areas. Develops effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable laws, accreditation agency requirements, and federal, state, and private health plans. Seeks advice and guidance as necessary to ensure proper understanding. Provides guidance and assistance with compliance issues as needed. 10. Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements and trends in the field of managed care by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, and actively participating in professional organizations. Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices. 11. Plans, develops and delivers training sessions (one-on-one, and small group) and oral presentations as needed to support targeted goals and objectives.
