Primary Purpose
Responsible for the effective execution of programmatic orientations, onboarding processes, and related learning programs that ensure a consistent and effective experience for employees, promoting readiness with knowledge and skills to be successful. The program manager may be assigned to programs for general or specific employee populations, including but not limited to all new employees, employed physicians, advanced practice providers, workforce development cohorts, residents/GME staff, or other emerging program groups, as established through manager assignments. This position will facilitate training content, coordinate educational activities and associated facilitators/venues/materials/technology, propose and implement program/process improvements, negotiate with stakeholders and leaders, and manage projects related to educational programming with an emphasis on new employee populations and ongoing skill development.
Minimum Specifications
Education
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree.
- Prefer Master’s Degree in a related field.
Experience
- Must have six (6) years of combined experience in training facilitation, project coordination, program management, and healthcare.
Equivalent Education and/or Experience
- May have an equivalent combination of education and experience to substitute for the education requirement.
Certification/Registration/Licensure
- Prefer at least one certification for excellence in learning and development, e.g., Certified Professional in Talent Development – CPTD
Skills or Special Abilities
- Effective delivery and presentation skills including classroom management, virtual learning, and technology skills training.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to work and collaborate effectively with staff, subject matter experts, stakeholders, and organizational leaders.
- Demonstrated program development and management skills: ability to develop and manage training programs and initiatives from concept to deployment and evaluation, using proven program management practices and processes.
- Strong prioritization skills, be able to work independently and manage multiple projects.
- Excellent communication and consulting skills and be able to interact effectively with all levels of internal/external staff, stakeholders, and subject-matter experts.
- High level of knowledge regarding learning and development best practices, facilitation skills and adult learning theories.
- Highly flexible, self-directed, and adapts well to a rapidly changing environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the complete lifecycle of orientation, onboarding, and education programs for assigned employee populations (E.g., new employees, physicians, etc.)
- Partner closely with stakeholders to design and support the accuracy of educational programs and learning initiatives.
- Provide training and reinforcement of new processes, relevant competencies, and initiatives to ensure successful implementations.
- Facilitate training sessions for assigning programs to support assigned employee populations for onboarding and other learning initiatives.
- Coordinate all related elements of orientation and onboarding programs such as other presenters, skills demonstrations, training materials, mentoring, or other learning activities.
- Collect evaluative data for educational programming and provide a feedback loop, with improvement recommendations, to key stakeholders for buy-in and support.
- Accurately track required learning activities for assigned employee populations to ensure completion, support evaluative data, and ensure a superior educational experience.
Job Accountabilities
- Identifies ways to improve work processes and improve customer satisfaction. Makes recommendations to supervisor, implements, and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals of the department and Parkland.
- Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, actively participating in professional organizations, and/or maintaining certification or licensure. Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices.
- Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws and guidelines that impact the area. Develops effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable laws, accreditation agency requirements, and federal, state, and private health plans. Seeks advice and guidance as needed to ensure proper understanding.
