Primary Purpose

Installs, repairs, and performs preventive maintenance functions on plumbing and piping systems, while adhering to safety codes and regulations to ensure that Parkland plumbing systems are operating safely and according to established standards.

 

Minimum Specifications

 

Education:

  • None

 

Experience:

  • Must have five years of experience in plumbing.

 

Equivalent Education and/or Experience:

  • None

 

Certification/Registration/Licensure:

  • Must possess a Journeymans Plumber license from the State of Texas.
  • Prefer state Medical Gas Endorsement.
  • Must have a valid Texas Driver License (Class C).

Skills or Special Abilities:

  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skill in the proper use of tools, materials, and methods used in plumbing.
  • Must be qualified to perform preventive maintenance on medical gas systems.
  • Must be qualified to install and repair plumbing system components.
  • Must be able to read and interpret construction drawings
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with Parkland employees.
  • Must have a working knowledge of computerized work orders and preventive maintenance system.
  • Must be able to assist with teaching and training basic plumbing skills to others
  • Must be physically able to lift heavy loads, walk, stand for extended periods, and climb ladders.

 

Responsibilities:

1. Inspects, repairs and installs plumbing fixtures including pipes, valves, faucets, toilets, showers, pumps, and other items to ensure that all systems are operating safely and efficiently.

2. Monitors, labels and repairs natural and medical gas lines according to established procedures to ensure that piping is safe and operational.

3. Adheres to established safety regulations and guidelines to ensure that repairs are carried out in an effective and safe manner.

4. Assists and communicates with contractors, engineering and other Parkland staff to provide the information and support required to keep Parkland systems operational.

5. Documents and maintains records of installations, repairs and preventive maintenance operations according to established policies and procedures to ensure that accurate documentation is maintained and made available for reference.

6. Performs preventive maintenance functions on plumbing and piping systems to ensure that the number and frequency of system failures is kept at a minimum.

7. Trains and assists other team members as needed to ensure that staff members are capable of performing assigned job functions.

8. Identifies ways to improve work processes and improve customer satisfaction. Makes recommendations to supervisor, implements and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals and mission of Parkland.
