Parkland Community Health Plan's (PCHP's) Marketing Communications Specialist creates communications that effectively market the organization and its services to a range of audiences through collaboration with internal teams and external agencies. Develops messaging architecture and competitive positioning across a variety of marketing and communications materials.

Minimum Required Education:

- Bachelor's Degree in marketing, journalism, public relations, advertising, business, communications, or related field.

Minimum Required Experience:

- 5-7 years' content marketing or journalism experience.

- Experience in healthcare, managed care insurance or financial services is preferred.

- Experience with federal, state and/or local statutes and guidelines is preferred.

Equivalent Education and/or Experience:

- May have an equivalent combination of education and experience to substitute for both the education and the experience requirements.

Skills or Special Abilities:

- Demonstrated ability to connect with different audiences who have varying interests and perspectives through executing branded content strategies across multiple marketing and communication channels.

- Must have exceptional oral and written communication skills.

- Must have ability to write in both a corporate communications and conversational tone.

- Must be sensitive to political, cultural, and legal issues affecting healthcare space and be able to function independently and as a team member.

- Must be able to demonstrate basic computer skills, strong organizational and decision-making skills, and attention to detail.

- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and apply critical thinking and analysis on projects.

- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and time constraints.

- Expert in AP writing style.

Responsibilities:

- Serves as a writer and editor for internal and external communications including, but not limited to, print collateral, presentations, social media, TV, radio, outdoor, blogs, press releases, internal communication, emails, newsletters, phone tree, talking points, print ads, and flyers.

- Collaborates with marketing strategists and department leads to understand consumer touchpoints and marketing objectives as it relates to content writing and communications.

- Provides copywriting assistance to internal departments to both proofread and enhance copy for external-facing initiatives.

- Interprets marketing plans and creative briefs from a copy perspective to create persuasive USPs, CTAs, body copy, and headlines for a range of marketing materials.

- Works alongside digital marketing strategist to create content calendars for social media and blogs.

- Works alongside external agency and/or internal designers on material development and production.

- Constructively evaluates creative design. - Develops, maintains, and stewards PCHPs writing standards across consumer-facing, media, and internal materials.

- Creates content that reflects the PCHP brand tone and personality that is consistently free of errors.

- Organizes and manages all copy assets and documentation.

- Participates in brainstorms, conduct competitive research, and identify opportunities to improve work processes and improve interdepartmental satisfaction.

- Makes recommendations to supervisor, implements, and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals of the department and PCHP.

2. Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, actively participating in professional organizations, and/or maintaining certification or licensure. Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices.

3. Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws and guidelines that impact the area. Develops effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable laws, accreditation agency requirements, and customer requirements. Seeks advice and guidance as needed to ensure proper understanding.
