Primary Purpose
Completes linen deliveries and pick-ups in a timely, safe and sanitary manner using the Linen Services delivery vehicles.

Certification/Registration/Licensure:
- Must have a Texas Class 'A' Commercial Driver's License (OR)
- For Internal transfers, must obtain a Texas Class 'A' Commercial Driver's License within 8 weeks of accepted offer and prior to the effective date of reclassification.

Skills or Special Abilities:
- Must be insurable and have a driving record that meets the criteria established by Parkland policy.
- Must be able to safely drive automatic transmission vehicles.
- Must be able to demonstrate a basic working knowledge of applicable laundry equipment.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers and other hospital staff.
- Must be able to read, write, perform basic mathematical calculations and follow instructions.
Responsibilities
1. Transports linen carts using laundry delivery vehicles, including tractor/trailer combinations and bobtail trucks, to and from customer facilities in a timely and safe manner, according to department procedures.
2. Loads and unloads vehicles in accordance with department procedures.
3. Completes production logs, delivery records, inspection checklists, and other assigned paperwork correctly and legibly.
4. Provides backup to other positions in the Linen Services department to ensure continuous workflow and maintain adequate production levels.
5. Stays alert to ensure proper equipment use and to identify and report any equipment malfunctions. Operates vehicles and all laundry equipment in a manner to ensure safety and minimize equipment malfunctioning. Maintains a safe and clean work environment, including ensuring cleanliness of the vehicle.
6. Transports linen carts using the laundry cart tow vehicle, utilizing established safety and infection control practices.
Job Accountabilities:
- Identifies ways to improve work processes and improve customer satisfaction. Makes recommendations to supervisor, implements, and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals of the department and Parkland.
- Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, actively participating in professional organizations, and/or maintaining certification or licensure. Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices.
- Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws and guidelines that impact the area. Develops effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable laws, accreditation agency requirements, and federal, state, and private health plans. Seeks advice and guidance as needed to ensure proper understanding.
