PRIMARY PURPOSE The IT Equipment Provisioning Specialist will be responsible for the execution of Information Technology processes that ensure a compliant and optimized IT hardware, software and telecommunications environment. This position will be responsible for guiding and executing the asset management processes including inventory tracking, storage, reporting, auditing, RMA/warranty repair, and disposal of hardware and software.
MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS
Education: Prefer a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology (IT) or related field.
Experience: Must have 4 years of experience managing and provisioning end user devices which include: Desktops, Laptops, Tablets, Mobile Devices/Smart Phones, 2-Way Radios, Pagers, Windows 7 and 10, IOS and Android operating systems.
Equivalent Education and/or Experience: May have an equivalent combination of education and experience to substitute for both the education and the experience requirements.
Certification/Registration/Licensure: None.
Skills or Special Abilities: Must have knowledge of personal computer operations and functions. Must have knowledge of telecommunications devices operations and functions. Must have practical knowledge of hardware, operating systems, telephone and communication equipment technologies currently in use at Parkland. Must be able to demonstrate critical thinking skills regarding system issues. Must be detailed oriented and be able to demonstrate understanding regarding the documentation processes. Must be computer literate, with basic knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and/or database software. Must have a collaborative work style that includes and values the views of others. Must have effective oral and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with department personnel, user departments, managers and vendors about business needs.
Responsibilities 1. Performs IT inventory management for Desktops, Laptops, Tablets, Mobile Devices/Smart Phones, 2-Way Radios, Pagers and associated peripherals/consumables. Ensures all inventories are accounted for and all inbound and outbound shipments (including disposed equipment) are delivered to the correct areas. 2. Tracks and reports on the location, description and associated user information for hardware and software technology assets, as well as tracking ownership and utilization. 3. Facilitates RMA, warranty and maintenance repairs. Reports all equipment issues to appropriate vendors. 4. Loads/installs/configures all incoming end user devices such as Laptops, Desktops, iPads, iPhones and paging devices. 5. Configures user accounts and system settings. Troubleshoots technical issues working with Desktop Support, End User Computing and Systems Engineering as needed. 6. Prepares and ships equipment to other Parkland locations and remote workers. 7. Coordinates the IT asset disposal process. 8. Assists in identifying system issues during imaging, configuration and maintenance cycles. Reports systems issues to other IT Teams for resolution as needed. Communicates directly with end users on less complex issues. 9. Evaluates all equipment returned to IT Fulfillment for re-use or recycle. 10. Provides input for process improvement and facilitates process improvement implementation as needed. 11. Supports audits related to IT assets, including collecting asset information directly and leading asset inventory projects. 12. Monitors all tickets through completion, resolving any discrepancies that may occur. Provides timely and complete updates to assigned tickets, including fully documenting detailed journal and resolution notes. 13. Represents the interests of the customer internally, providing appropriate escalation to other Parkland teams when issues cannot be resolved within IT Fulfillment. 14. Assists with troubleshooting and problem resolution on telecommunications equipment and services as needed. 15. Creates and tracks inventory orders for Desktop Support, Network and Telecom via Lawson and the IT Store as needed. 16. Creates, receives and dispatches tickets to Desktop Support. 17. Attends and participates in team meetings and discussions. Contribute to discussions and provide feedback on processes, operational issues, etc. Be engaged in one-on-one and group discussions. Participate in Technology project initiatives as required. 18. Performs all activities in compliance with the internal and external requirements/standards for Health & Safety, Quality, Regulatory and Finance. 19. Maintains knowledge of operational procedures and standards to ensure that protocols are followed, and consistency is used throughout Parkland¿s Information Technology department. Develops effective internal controls designed to promote the said rules and regulations.
