The Diversity and Inclusion Program Manager works closely with the Associate Director of Diversity and Inclusion to manage and execute Parkland’s strategic priorities for the Department of Diversity & Inclusion. The Program Manager assists, develops and manages programs, services and initiatives designed to enhance diversity & inclusion initiatives and community health institute strategic goals, improve cultural competency of staff and care teams, improve patient outcomes, and participate in civic and community networking.



-Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or a related field.


-Must have 5 years of progressive experience in the area of Diversity & Inclusion.

 -Must have 3 years of relevant work experience in program/project management Health care.

-Project management experience preferred.

-Previous experience leading D & I team engagements with senior leaders and teams, including human resource business partners.

Equivalent Education and/or Experience:

 -May have an equivalent combination of education and experience to substitute for both the education and the experience requirements.

- Must have exposure to design and implementation of High Potential development programs and succession planning.

- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation/facilitation skills

-Manages Diversity & Inclusion Programs to include executing initiatives to drive a culture of diversity & inclusion. Collaborates with all Office of Talent Management leaders and their teams to ensure an impactful implementation of such strategy.


-Provides professional support along with the Associate Director of Diversity & Inclusion to develop, implement, and facilitate online and instructor led professional development programs and activities that incorporate technology and experiential learning for a system wide audience.


-Provides expertise and guidance, coaching, mentoring and coordination for the Cultural Competence Education on the Enhanced National Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) in Health and Healthcare.


-Coordinates with other departments on diversity & inclusion related initiatives including job fairs, health fairs, benchmarking assessments, surveys, and competitive and marketplace research on diversity & inclusion trends.


-Partners with Talent Acquisition in executing workforce diversity & inclusion strategies.


-Leads and co-lead team effectiveness engagements including diagnosis, design, intervention, and evaluation with a focus on enhancing employee engagement and patient satisfaction. 


-Assist to develop, implement, and oversee Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), to increase employee engagement, market awareness, and their impact on business.


-Works with internal stakeholders to monitor and analyze trends e.g., geo-map or hot-spot geographic areas with a high density of morbidity and high readmission rates, identify social & environmental determinants of health, and provide timely information on individuals and groups for whom quality improvement or other interventions can be directed.


-Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field of Diversity & Inclusion by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, and actively participating in professional organizations.  Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices.

-Serves as a liaison between Parkland Health & Hospital System and external stakeholders through communication, as well as serving on committees.


-Assures the quality of educational offerings through the creation and implementation of evaluation processes. Assists in creating measurement systems to track outcomes of initiatives and programs.


-Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws and guidelines that impact the Diversity & Inclusion department.  Develops effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable laws, accreditation agency requirements, and federal, state, and private health plans.  Seeks advice and guidance as needed to ensure proper understanding.


-Monitors annual budgets that ensure the Diversity & Inclusion department has the necessary funds to carry out the goals and objectives that have been established for the department.


-Oversees and manages the production of brochures, newsletters and internal & external website content relating to Parkland’s diverse and inclusive initiatives.
