PRIMARY PURPOSE

Provides analysis of specimens for review by the pathologist.


MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:
-Must have a Bachelor's degree in Science; OR, must have one year of experience as a Cytotechnologist.

Certification/Registration/Licensure:
-Must be registered as a Cytotechnologist through the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (CT-ASCP) OR
-Registered as a Cytotechnologist with an International Accreditation (CT-IAC).

Skills or Special Abilities:
-Must be able to demonstrate ability to exercise judgment based on technical knowledge.
-Must be able to demonstrate ability to maintain orderliness and to keep accurate records.
-Must be able to effectively follow written and oral instructions.
-Must be able to communicate effectively with laboratory staff and hospital employees.
