Primary Purpose

Inspects and performs routine to complex repairs on all medical electronic equipment to ensure that all equipment is in compliance with applicable safety standards.

Education:

  • Must have an Associate's degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or in Electronic Engineering.


Experience:

  • Must have two years of Biomedical Equipment Technology experience in a healthcare setting.


Equivalent Education and/or Experience:

  • May have an equivalent combination of education and experience to substitute for both the education and the experience requirements.


Certification/Registration/Licensure:

  • None


Skills or Special Abilities:

  • Must have expertise in two specific equipment modalities.
  • Must be able to inspect and perform routine repairs on equipment.
  • Must be able to perform calibrations and safety inspections.
  • Must be capable of using a broad spectrum of hand tools and electronics test equipment.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing with all levels of staff and management.
  • Must be physically able to lift heavy loads, walk, stand for extended periods, and climb ladders.
