PRIMARY PURPOSE

Assigns physical access, parking access and issues ID badges to Parkland employees, contractors, students, volunteers and physicians. Ensures customer satisfaction by following the policies and procedures as established by the department.

 

MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS

 

Education:

Must have an Associate¿s degree in business, finance, healthcare administration or a related field.

 

Experience:

Must have 3-5 years of experience in assigning building access, parking access and issuing ID badges, including experience with building and parking access control systems.

 

Equivalent Education and/or Experience:

May have an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in lieu of specific education and/or experience as stated above.

 

Certification/Registration/Licensure:

None.

 

Skills or Special Abilities:

Must demonstrate knowledge of access control/badging systems; specifically Lenel OnGuard, DSX, ASI and 3M EFMS.

Must demonstrate knowledge of Key Control Software.

Must have excellent personal computer skills and be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Must demonstrate a positive demeanor and have good customer service skills.

Must be detail oriented and have good organizational skills.

Must be able to solve problems within the guidelines of established policies and procedures.

 

Responsibilities

  1. Creates and issues ID badges, using the designated system, according to established policies and procedures for all Parkland employees, contractors, students, volunteers and physicians. Works with various departments providing ID badge processes as outlined in the department policies and procedures manual.
  2. Assigns and deactivates physical access, using the designated system, according to established policies and procedures for all Parkland employees, contractors, students, volunteers and physicians. Works with various departments to ensure required physical access is granted or terminated in a timely manner.
  3. Assigns parking access to customers, changes or cancels their parking arrangements by using the designated system. Prepares paperwork/spreadsheets for parking payments or refunds, as required. Works with Payroll Department to begin, change or cancel employee parking fee deductions.
  4. Analyzes and reconciles parking database entries to ensure payroll deductions are accurate and consistent with employee parking deductions and parking lease agreements. Works with external customers such as UT Southwestern to assign parking access in accordance with parking lease agreements.
  5. Responds to and ensures prompt resolution of customer complaints related to ID badges, parking and access control.
  6. Ensures thorough and complete control procedures are in place to maintain accurate records of documents processed. Maintains information in the badge system database documenting badge operations, including access levels assigned.

  9. Receives keys from Parkland employees and documents keys as returned in the designated key system according to established policies and procedures.
  10. Maintains a positive working relationship with co-workers, other departments, employees, and visitors to ensure efficient work processes and good customer service.
  11. Identifies ways to improve customer satisfaction and work processes. Makes recommendations to supervisor, implements and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals of the department and Parkland.
