Police Jobs

The Dallas County Hospital District (DCHD) Police Department was established in 1985 to provide a safe and secure environment for patients, staff and visitors at Parkland Memorial Hospital, outpatient specialty clinics and Parkland's neighborhood health centers. Unlike most hospitals in the United States, Parkland has its own fully-licensed police agency comprised of four divisions: operations (patrol), support services, parking services, and training and recruitment. The first police department of its kind in Texas, it is staffed by sworn officers, non-sworn employees and professional personnel.

Serving as a police officer in a healthcare setting requires a unique set of skills. In addition to traditional law enforcement duties, police officers at Parkland must be servant leaders who are skilled in showing care and compassion to all patients, from individuals with chronic healthcare conditions to those with behavioral health issues. The safety of all patients, visitors and staff is our foremost concern; helping others is our calling. If you are committed to service with compassion and respect and meet our qualifications, we hope you’ll consider becoming part of the DCHD Police Department team.
